Plan B by Pete Wilson

My sister-in-law, Leslie, went through Plan B by Pete Wilson this past summer. I'm so glad she encouraged me to do this study. I just finished chapter 4 today and it is soooooooo what all of us needs to read. I'm fortunate enough to be doing the study with one of my "sisters" Amy Hartling. I can't wait till we go over the questions for Chapter 3 & 4.

If you feel like you are drowning and unhappy, read the book. If you feel like you need understanding, read the book. If you feel like you are out of control, read the book. Bottom line….READ THE BOOK! It will help you heal in ways you didn't even know you could be healed. Good luck and let me know how it goes.

Colossians 2:6-7

Just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. Colossians 2:6-7

Thanks Sheelah for this verse. It is perfect for Thanksgiving! I'm so thankful that God sent His son so that we could be saved. They both sacrificed so much so that we could live even when we depart this earth.

For Thanksgiving, I want to continue to remember just how blessed I am in all aspects of my life. He completely takes care of me and you every single day! May we remember to thank Him continuously and love Him for all eternity.

I'm Back

I can't believe April 30th was my last post on here. I've been posting on Caringbridge this whole time. You can go back and read from the beginning of my daughter's life till now as I go through the grieving process of her not being here.

Visit: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/liliangracewhitten/

Thanksgiving is approaching and I want to encourage everyone to recognize all their blessings.

  • I have been blessed with family and friends even in the not so fun times.
  • I became a mother even though my daughter is in heaven.
  • I get to live out God's purpose for my life.
  • I have a roof over my head.
  • I started a new business, foundation and adventures this year.

These are just some of my blessings….the list goes on and on and on. I thank God for caring and loving me so much. He is incredible. PRAISE GOD for life!

Lily and Chrissy Devotional Time: Listen! and Constant Praise

Lily and I are doing devotions together out of her One Minute Daily Devotional for Girls Book. Here are the two verses from each. would put the whole devotional but its copy righted. You are welcome to buy the book and do a daily devotion with us. We will be doing it around 9:30 or 10:00 every night. There is a theme from the book for each month...April is OBEY, OBEY and OBEY! :)

Listen (April 25)- Deuteronomy 30:20
Constant Praise (April 30) - Deuteronomy 32:3-4

Listen covered the fact that we should slow down and listen to God. He is speaking to us throughout the day i helping guide us into the direction he has for us. Stop and listen...He wants to communicate! (PRAYER from the book: Dear God, please help me with this (listening). I want to learn to be still. I want to listen to You. Amen)

Constant Praise covered taking the focus off yourself and your problems and praise Him for even the little things. In our case, Squeaker is so tiny. There are two other babies smaller than her. I can't even imagine anything smaller. Remember that God takes care of us always! )PRAYER from the book: Dear God, thank You for my family, my friends, for horses and puppies. Thank You for mountains and oceans. Thank You for the sunrises and sunsets, for rainbows and thunderclouds. Just...thank You. Amen)

Five Finger Prayer

Five Finger Prayer

This is so neat. I had never heard this before.

This is beautiful - and it is surely worth making the 5 finger prayer a part of our lives.

1. Your thumb is nearest you.
So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a 'sweet duty.'

2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.

3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president no matter how you voted, leaders in business and ! industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.

4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.

5. And lastly comes our little finger - the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. .As the Bible says, 'The least shall be the greatest among you.' Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

If you decide to send this to a friend, you might brighten some one's day! Pass this on to someone special... I did.

Don't tell God how big your storm is, Tell the storm how big your God is!!! It only takes a single thought to move the world; let that be love!

PS: GOD LOVES YOU.....PASS THE WORD ON TO MORE FRIENDS AND ASK THEM TO CONTINUE TELLING OTHERS THAT GOD LOVES THEM TOO. JUST THINK OF HOW MANY PEOPLE THAT COULD BE REACHED OUT TO AND BLESSED WITH

Psalm 55: 16-17

I call to You, God, and You save me. Even if I cry out in distress evening, morning and noon, You will never fail to hear my voice. - Psalm 55:16-17

From My Aunt Sheila

My Aunt Sheila has been sending me devotionals off and on to give me soul food. I love her so much. She has definitely given me some true treasures:

Devotion:

A word aptly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver. Prov. 25:11 NIV

A righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.
Ps. 34:19 NIV

Devotion:
We cannot shine if we have not taken time to fill our lamps.

For you were once darkness, but not you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light...nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness... Eph. 5:8-11 NIV

Devotion:
My God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Ephesians 1:3

He's Here

“And He said unto me, my grace is sufficient for thee for my strength is made perfect in weakness, most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)

I Will Never Be the Same Again - Song Lyrics

I will never be the same again,
I can never return, I've closed the door.
I will walk apart, I'll run the race
And I will never be the same again.

I will never be the same again,
I can never return, I've closed the door.
I will walk apart, I'll run the race
And I will never be the same again.

Fall like fire, soak like rain,
Flow like mighty waters, again and again.
Sweep away the darkness, burn away the chaff,
And let a flame burn to glorify Your name.

There are higher heights, there are deeper seas,
Whatever you need to do, Lord do in me.
The Glory of God fills my life,
And I will never be the same again.

Fall like fire, soak like rain,
Flow like mighty waters, again and again.
Sweep aways the darkness, burn away the chaff
And let a flame burn to glorify Your name.

Fall like fire, soak like rain,
Flow like mighty waters, again and again.
Sweep away the darkness, burn away the chaff,
And let a flame burn to glorify Your name.

I will never be the same again,
I can never return, I've closed the door.
I will walk the path, I will run the race
And I will never be the same again.
And I will never be the same again.
And I will never be the same again.

Beth Moore Prayer Cards

I would like to promote Beth Moore's Prayer Cards. I've been recovering from surgery while being pregnant, so I've needed some extra lift me up power. I started reading her cards on a daily basis. They really help open the doors to my soul and emotional thought processes. I feel like I've been able to get to some of my negative feelings and push them out.
Here's one from the Victory Box:
Lord God, You are my stronghold in time of trouble. Help me and deliver me; Deliver me from the wicked and save me, because I take refuge in You. (Psalm 37:39-40)
Life can definitely be full of crazy rides. Jump in to God's word and hold on for dear life. He's waiting to help each of us survive and thrive through anything and everything! :)
