My sister-in-law, Leslie, went through Plan B by Pete Wilson this past summer. I'm so glad she encouraged me to do this study. I just finished chapter 4 today and it is soooooooo what all of us needs to read. I'm fortunate enough to be doing the study with one of my "sisters" Amy Hartling. I can't wait till we go over the questions for Chapter 3 & 4.

If you feel like you are drowning and unhappy, read the book. If you feel like you need understanding, read the book. If you feel like you are out of control, read the book. Thanks Sheelah for this verse. It is perfect for Thanksgiving! I'm so thankful that God sent His son so that we could be saved. They both sacrificed so much so that we could live even when we depart this earth.

For Thanksgiving, I want to continue to remember just how blessed I am in all aspects of my life. He completely takes care of me and you every single day! May we remember to thank Him continuously and love Him for all eternity.

Thanksgiving is approaching and I want to encourage everyone to recognize all their blessings.

I have been blessed with family and friends even in the not so fun times.

This is so neat. I had never heard this before.

This is beautiful - and it is surely worth making the 5 finger prayer a part of our lives.

1. Your thumb is nearest you.
So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a 'sweet duty.'

2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.

3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president no matter how you voted, leaders in business and ! industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.

4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.

5. And lastly comes our little finger - the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. .As the Bible says, 'The least shall be the greatest among you.' Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

Beth Moore Prayer Cards

I would like to promote Beth Moore's Prayer Cards. I've been recovering from surgery while being pregnant, so I've needed some extra lift me up power. I started reading her cards on a daily basis. They really help open the doors to my soul and emotional thought processes. I feel like I've been able to get to some of my negative feelings and push them out.

The "W" in Christmas

Each December, I vowed to make Christmas a calm and peaceful experience.

I had cut back on nonessential obligations - extensive card writing, endless baking, decorating, and even overspending.

Yet still, I found myself exhausted, unable to appreciate the precious family moments, and of course, the true meaning of Christmas.

My son, Nicholas, was in kindergarten that year. It was an exciting season for a six year old.

For weeks, he'd been memorizing songs for his school's "Winter Pageant."

I didn't have the heart to tell him I'd be working the night of the production. Unwilling to miss his shining moment, I spoke with his teacher. She assured me there'd be a dress rehearsal the morning of the presentation.

All parents unable to attend that evening were welcome to come then.

Fortunately, Nicholas seemed happy with the compromise.

So, the morning of the dress rehearsal, I filed in ten minutes early, found a spot on the cafeteria floor and sat down. Around the room, I saw several other parents quietly scampering to their seats.

As I waited, the students were led into the room. Each class, accompanied by their teacher, sat cross-legged on the floor. Then, each group, one by one, rose to perform their song.

Because the public school system had long stopped referring to the holiday as "Christmas," I didn't expect anything other than fun, commercial entertainment songs of reindeer, Santa Claus, snowflakes and good cheer.

So, when my son's class rose to sing, "Christmas Love," I was slightly taken aback by its bold title.

Nicholas was aglow, as were all of his classmates, adorned in fuzzy mittens, red sweaters, and bright snowcaps upon their heads.

Those in the front row- center stage - held up large letters, one by one, to spell out the title of the song.

As the class would sing "C is for Christmas," a child would hold up the letter C. Then, "H is for Happy," and on and on, until each child holding up his portion had presented the complete message, "Christmas Love."

The performance was going smoothly, until suddenly, we noticed her; a small, quiet, girl in the front row holding the letter "M" upside down - totally unaware her letter "M" appeared as a "W".

The audience of 1st through 6th graders snickered at this little one's mistake.. But she had no idea they were laughing at her, so she stood tall, proudly holding her "W".

Although many teachers tried to shush the children, the laughter continued until the last letter was raised, and we all saw it together.

A hush came over the audience and eyes began to widen.

In that instant, we understood the reason we were there, why we celebrated the holiday in the first place, why even in the chaos, there was a purpose for our festivities.

For when the last letter was held high, the message read loud and clear:

"C H R I S T W A S L O V E"

And, I believe, He still is.

Amazed in His presence... .humbled by His love.

Again, HAVE A BLESSED HOLIDAY SEASON. “Merry CHRISTmas!”

God is such an amazing God. Michael and I have been trying to start a family for almost 6 years...okay...I've been trying to for that long...Michael jumped on board a few years ago...but we have been in a holding tank for a loooooooooooooooonnnnnnngggggg time or so it has seemed like such that time....but GOD...decided it was time to bless us with an amazing miracle.....

WE'VE GOT A MIRACLE GROWING INSIDE ME....and WILL BLESS US AND MANY OTHERS IN JUNE...my due date right now is June 21, 2010~ PRAISE GOD!

Thank you to everyone who has prayed for us....and let me tell you...strangers have even kicked in when they've heard our story. PRAISE GOD FOR MIRACLES....I AM SPEECHLESS...and you know what I am doing...falling to my knees and thanking Him for the lessons I've had to learn in order to get me here. He ALWAYS knows what's best for us.

40 Days of Purpose

Our church, Fellowship Church of Berryhill, is going through the 40Days of Purpose. I am very excited about this study. We are on Day 4 and I'm already learning! Here is Psalm 27 that I gave to my Home Team Members to get us ready....because if you've ever done a study, life tends to get turned upside.

1 The LORD is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid?

#29 Transform Your Thinking

The case of individuals getting into a negative attitude rut has been running rampant among individuals in my life....even in me. I was reading out of a devotional book today and stumbled upon the "Transform Your Thinking" section. I definitely have needed to read this off and on throughout my life. It's so easy to get into a negative state of mind. The positive can be a little harder to achieve at times. Now, there are many individuals that never struggle with this positive and negative thought process...yet I'm finding more and more do struggle. Here's a golden nugget for you to read. Please take from it what you wish. I definitely want to continue to see the good in all situations...no matter what. May God give you peace and show you the positives in all things!

#29 Transform Your Thinking

What does it mean to transform your thinking? One way is to become aware of your thoughts and to actively choose to think better thoughts. Get out of a negative mental rut and decide to think about higher things. Stop going over why things went wrong or how someone hurt you. Choose to move from negative thoughts into more postive and creative thoughts. Replace complaints with praise.

Ask God to help you transform your thinking. When you find yourself dwelling on what's wrong, ask Him to help you find what's right in every situation. Allow the light of love to transform your thoughts.

This morning I had the joy of watching Joyce Meyers talk about Attitudes while working out on the elliptical. Yes, I finally got to work out this morning....a first in almost 7 weeks. It's crazy how much my attitude has changed in the last 7 weeks. I've noticed without my maintenance work, I become a different person....a person that I do not necessarily like or could be proud of....what's crazy is how hard it is for me to get back on track....and adjust my attitude.

So many people lately have really gotten on my nerves. I just get tired of hearing what they have to say....now this is something I want to change...it could be a big sign that I need to change my attitude.......sooooooo God gave me a nice little sermon from Joyce....on Attitudes.

I didn't get to watch the beginning, but here are the two verses that were given on attitudes:

Romans 8:28
Genesis 50:20

Pray for me and the others in this world that need an attitude adjustment. I definitely will be working on my attitude adjustment. I get so uncomfortable when I'm not walking in line with God. May you walk with Him. Check yourself to see where you are at in your attitude.

I'm starting back on a maintenance program to help me in where I need to be...take care of yourself, so you can be ready for His work!

If you keep His word and don’t deny Him by giving Him everything you have, he will reward you openly. Open doors will begin to come before you and supernatural blessings will follow! It’s in His word!

Birthday - Baby Steps

Today is my birthday...and just in case you didn't know, but I am on a trip in DC. I'm doing auto posting from the 8th - 19th. I'll have to respond to your comments when I return. Now that has been said, I want to share with you something important.

God has taught me many things. Today I turn 31 and feel like I have missed a lot of his lessons. I'm so thankful that He keeps giving them to me, so that I can finally pay attention and learn. Beth more said it best in last weeks lesson...God allows the devil to sift us like wheat when we need something sifted from our life.

Wow...I know I have a lot of things that need to be sifted...so as these little footprints above are tiny...I am reminded that baby steps are big ones....as long as you keep moving forward with God. So...let's all try to give up the things that need to be sifted...so God can do what He has meant for us. AMEN

The women at Fellowship Church are starting the "Believing in God" Bible Study from Beth Moore. I'm wearing a blue cord to remind me to believe in God that He will be here for me and get me through anything and everything. I have specific things I'm going through right now...and I'm believing that God will make things happen in His perfect will. What happens when you have to sit down and wait for the Communion Service to start...you have to think about all the things that separates you from God! What was separating me from God.....Anger, Disappointment, Wrongs done to me, failures.....why do we hold on so tight to anything....I know for me....it's about being afraid of what could happen if I do let them go....see some of the things I've held on to...were things that completely have changed my life...my families world...everything that I've ever known...soooooooooooo

...........by holding on to those things.....I could keep something from before it all happened........guess what.....keeping it only makes it worse.....by holding on, we can do what God has set for our life. We have a purpose.....let go, so you can start living!

I know I don't always get my attitude right...I keep things longer than I should. I do know more than anything now, by letting go of the things that separated me from God before I took Communion......gave me the peace I've been praying for .....for a long time!

Need Peace = LET Go, and let GOD!

Since I will be having my eye surgery tomorrow...aka Lasik...I thought I'd post before I will not be able to be near the computer for just a little bit.

Our Pastor raised a great thought in our minds this past Sunday about being REWIRED! Tonight at Home Group it really hit me in a strong way....

Jesus came to this earth so that we could have a personal relationship with God....how cool is that...what's even cooler....is that throughout time...when God has been silent...people still had a purpose for their life...they may never got to see the overall picture...just like you and me...but they were a huge part of the picture....

soooooooooooo, remember this....God decided that it was important to send come in the flesh by sending His son to die on the cross....so that we could have that one on one relationship with Him...we don't have to throw stones or make living sacrifices to be forgiven....we just have to call upon Him in prayer and ask for forgiveness....

WOW talk about the most amazing gift ever! PRAISE GOD for thinking we are worth everything! May you have a blessed Easter....and take time to personally spend some time with Him today!

I think this says it all. Remember that when you are down to nothing, God is up to something. Life may not ever be solved as the mystery that it is for each of us...yet God knows the key to unlocking those mysteries. There are so many things I've been mad at or hold a lot of anger towards. What are you angry at....what are you holding on to....it's time to let it go...whatever "it" is for you....holding on...just holds us back. May God be with you in releasing it all...He already knows our thoughts! :)

God's Timing

More and more people talk to me and question God's timing. I have to admit, I struggle often with His timing in things. If I can just stop and look back at how amazing His timing really has been for me....I can't complain. God is so good. He knows exactly what we need. The main point is to let Him work on His timing. It may take a long time for healing or change to be completed, yet we should feel safe and reassured that He loves us...He has a plan...He knows the decisions that will be made. May God be with you through your waiting period. Remember the saying...when you are down to nothing, he is up to something! Love you!

Be Still and Know that I Am God

The admonition, “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10), is often misunderstood. In this brief article, Jason Jackson explores the meaning of the sacred text. Study this devotional with us.“Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). God’s people are commanded to “be still” in this verse. The imperative gives a solemn duty to those in a covenant relationship with God—Israel in the Old Testament, but today, it is given to Christians (cf. Galatians 3:26-29).

What does it mean when God’s own are commanded to “be still”? The injunction is not given to restrict the mobility of God’s people. The duty represents a spiritual disposition that ought to characterize those to whom God’s unfailing promises have been given.

The word translated “be still” comes from the Hebrew term raphah. This word is found in various forms in the Old Testament, with different shades of meaning. It refers to that which is slack, or to let drop, or in some instances, to be disheartened or weak. When used of a person (as opposed to some inanimate object) it often has a negative connotation.

Interestingly, “be weak” is here commanded. In other contexts, those who let their hands “drop” from work are condemned. Those who are disheartened are commanded to take courage. In contexts where “being still” is condemned, we find that certain obligations were being neglected, and God’s people were admonished to take initiative to fulfill their duties.

Sadly, there are those who are far from “still”; they “do all the work” and give God none of the credit. They believe that by “lifting up their hands” and by “taking courage,” they can survive and thrive by the sweat of their own brow. They can do it all on their own, without any divine dependence.Here is the irony in this term “be still.” While we must take the initiative to fulfill our responsibilities and live our lives, the uncertainties of living in a world of sin and woe will continually challenge us.

Personal initiative is no substitute for reliance upon God (cf. James 4:13-17).This command—“be still”—forces us to think on two things: that we are finite, and that God is infinite. That being the case, we need to drop our hands, go limp, relax, and “chill out.” Christian people ought to “come, behold the works of Jehovah,” (v. 8) that we may enjoy a calm confidence in him who gave us his Son.“Shall he not also with him freely give us all things?” Paul reasoned (Romans 8:32). Psalm 46:10 encourages us to reflect on what God can do in the face of what we are unable to do.Spiritual serenity, the psalmist admits, ought to be cultivated in spite of the shaking mountains and agitated waters (vv. 2-3; i.e., figures for the difficulties we face in life). This spiritual calm, that God commands, does not come from a lack of troubles; it derives from a steady, deep reflection on the ways God has intervened in history on behalf of his people (cf. Romans 15:4).

So as your world crumbles around you, the call from Scripture is: don’t flinch in faith in God. Stand still—not because of a self-made confidence, not because you are the most composed person in the face of disaster, not because “you’ve seen it all.” Be still because of what you know about God.It is “God’s past” that provides calm for “our future.” Know that he is God! Know it, not merely intellectually, but practically, spiritually, and emotionally. He is your God. He is the ruler of kingdoms of this earth and the all-powerful Creator of the Universe.If you are the last man or woman standing, be still. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth do change” (Psalm 46:1-2a). Hallelujah!

Keep Moving Forward!

Life....people....changes...choices...the list can go on and on again. The fact that all of these can stop us in our tracks is not something we are proud of admitting....that we can be distracted, dragged down, hurt and destroyed. I know that I have been struggling on some days to KEEP MOVING FORWARD, but I'm ready to do just that....KEEP MOVING FORWARD. How did I start back again after being stopped yet again......I did the following:

1. Went to Church to get fed God's word.
2. Met with my Pastor to deal with some Anger/Hurt Issues from various things in my life. He gave me James 1....please read it ALL!
3. Cleaned out one of my closets that I had used as a prayer closet....it's back up and running. I've been able to spend some quality time with God for two nights in a row....AMAZING!
4. Found friends that lift me up and feed my soul with God's word and prayer.

These aren't everything that you could do, but it's a start. Every little step helps get you moving. May God be with you and carry you when times are not easy. He is so strong...and willing to always be there for us all! AMEN!

There were two churches. Philadelphia had "it" and Laodicea is "it"less.

It's like the Lord is saying to us...I know your deeds Fellowship Church...are we committed to God. Does Fellowship Church have "it"? YES, because the reality of what is going on. God is doing something through Fellowship Church. (It truly is amazing to watch)

An important thing to remember is that those ministries that have "it" can lose "it".

Why is our church experiencing "it"?
1. Worship Band - not it in itself
2. modern ways, computers, big screen tv, worship center, chairs, cool back up lights, graphics on the big screen...not it in itself
3. speaker, pastor..he delivers every Sunday - not it in itself
4. Jay...excitement....when he started...the jokes- not it in itself

The Experiencing "It" Must Haves

Passion for being in God's presence...want to hear from Him! Our lives would be changed because of Him. Pray that God would be here today and always!Praying that I want to meet You today!
Huge, deep craving burning desire to reach lost people! (For me coming to church means to get fed and filled back up to reach others).
Sincere Integrity! above reproach, everything that is done can pass the smell test, don't do anything to give people a reason to look down on yourself or your church! Pastor Matt wants to rewire himself! He is trying to go 60 days without the Internet! He messed up today...Jay reminded him to remember to always tell the truth or it will eat you alive. We are here for something bigger than ourselves!
Spirit Filled Faith! confidence in what God is up to...He can accomplish things through us, God is up to something ...we are on a journey with God, he can accomplish anything through Faith...Us Believing and God Doing!
Down to Earth Humility! unless the Lord builds the house...it is not it...its His work in His timing...we are clay in His hands...whatever is good...He gets the credit! It's about WOW LOOK AT GOD!
Brokenness! I don't want to be calloused! Broken on behalf of others helps us relate...gives us a heart ....when a persons heart is calloused, God can't penetrate...can't see how to relate...a man prayed for God to break His heart (I know my heart has been broken many times this past year...praise God!) A man prayed this cool prayer...but beware...it will happen----- STRETCH ME, RUIN ME and HEAL ME.....(wow).

God's Positioning System...return to your first love...God...If you don't, God can take the "it" away. We all contribute to "it". What if everyone of us grabbed this for our life...HE CAN DO ALL! What do you want for your life? Passionately pursue this for your life...God can do all things! AMEN!!!!!

Life brings us many things that we have to face. We all our human in every way. Many of us fall in our walk with God. It is important to know that He loves us no matter what! God will not turn His unconditional love away from us. He wants to hold us and comfort us through the good, the bad and the ugly. I will be posting 10 forgiveness quotes over the next month. Oh how true this is for us all. God is such a wonderful caretaker! He wants us to be the best version we can be! Prayer Works

My dear friend Amy has grown so much in her Christian walk. I wanted her to know that she makes a difference for me. Just when I think I am down and can't give any more, she is one of the people God has placed in my life to fuel me up!

These scriptures were on her blog last month. Prayer is so important. No matter how my month ends in my cycle, I know that I have given it all to Him to fulfill His will...how can you be upset at that if it does not turn out how I'd like....God is always so good to me. I know He is constantly answering my prayers...PRAISE the Lord! :)

My sister-in-law, Leslie, posted on her blog about songs taking her back. She encouraged us to post a reply to tell about a song (s) that take us back....so here was my reply to her post, plus I added the words for you to see just how this can take me back....enjoy! :)

Oh...there's is a story for a lot of songs....the one that really takes me back is "Calm the Waters" by Watermark. I draw back to a Texas night under the stars at Camp Champions in Marble Falls Texas in the summer 1999. I was just starting to go through some transitioning with lots of family passing away. I remember the cool breeze rush over my face while lying on my back listening to that song...it gave me a lot of hope.

These Days...

WOW! These Days for me have been amazing, yet I am getting worn out. It doesn't take long before we get too busy that we forget to appreciate the moments that happen everyday. We also can get wrapped up in so much that we forget to pray, spend time in God's word, reflect, praise or just be with God. Don't get so caught up in things that you forget what is important. Trust God to help you know when enough of the drifting is taking place. You have to stay on top of things.....but what's the easy thing to do...pray....talk to God! It doesn't cost anything....just time! :) I hope all are well and enjoying what God is doing in your life...if even it makes you uncomfortable...that discomfort is not of God, but something trying to destroy your walk with God!

Keep moving forward...these days...they are crazy and cram packed with stuff to do! Call upon the Lord to get you through....HE IS BIG...things are small.....TRUST HIM THESE DAYS and life is a lot better...more positive and enjoyable!

He Takes My Breath Away

I have been struggling with sleep this week. All my dreaming amounts to helping others in Major crisis episodes. I'm not sure why I am dreaming so much, but it really has been wearing me out. Michael has even noticed that I'm not sleeping at all. I toss and turn and look at the clock off and on for most nights. The dreams seem so real. I wonder how God uses us even when we are sleeping.

I do know this....God has been taking my breath away with Miracles and Answers to prayers. For those of you I've been praying for, you know what God has been doing for you. He is amazing in how He works....sometimes I question, because I just can't see...yet when I do...again He takes my breath away. Have you had your breath taken away by God's Wonder Hands? Let me know!

This week has been a really tough one for me, but I know God has a plan. He gives me tid bits and large hammer signs of His working hand. All we have to do is pay attention...He wants to walk with us...and live with us...more than twice a week at church! :) PRAISE GOD for answered and unanswered prayers...because He loves to take our breath away...and I love it when He does...even if it takes me a little longer to recognize the joy and overwhelming emotions He brings!

4-H Youth Development

I found this on a Texas 4-H Club site and thought it was very interesting to see a 4-H prayer. It made me happy that in some places, there is prayer! After researching a little bit, the National 4-H Youth Development program does not promote religion due to the laws of the land. It has to do with diversity and non-discrimination.

I thought I'd share what I found. What if every one said this little prayer everyday? Would our world be a better place?

I love looking at the Oral Roberts Praying Hands Statute! It's a great reminder that we have power through prayer...through God's reply! When you feel like you have nothing left....PRAY...drop to your knees...let your heart pour out to the FATHER! He will give you an answer...be ready for it! Wounds

Okay...here's for the first time...one of my wounds from my surgery. Just like when cut on the outside...things we do...can cause a wounded heart. There are so many things that people do to us everyday that can cause wounds. Some are more painful than others! What wounds do you have today that God could help you start to heal?

I love the armor of God scripture in helping us be prepared every day as we go unto the world and mingle among people and experience many things.

Ephesians 6:10-17

"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. BABY STEPS

This pic is a friends precious little baby. As many of you know, Michael and I have been trying to get a little one here for some time...I've been trying since we got married almost 5 years ago! As this journey keeps going....and I attend baby showers and hospital rooms....I am comforted by my Father! I praise God for bringing Michael and I closer together. We've come a long ways! So....thinking of babies...I need to remember that in anything that we try to do or change....we have to take baby steps. One thing at a time....one pain at a time...one obstacle at a time. Whatever you are going through....remember....this too will pass....BABY STEPS.....it's not easy....sometimes....it's not meant to be easy....it will strengthen you...I promise....because God is here. Let Him comfort you....let Him amaze you.....let Him give you REST! A baby in a mother's womb is protected and cared for within God's amazing design. When he created you and me....he had a plan for all steps in our life! Remember...take BABY STEPS...sometimes you can do a giant leap....but lots of things....BABY STEPS!

Limbo

Ever felt that you were in limbo...well...I have many times. It seems that my life hits a fork in the road often....and I always feel like I can't move either way....because I get in the way. Yes, many times you will read that I need to just step aside. Our pastor talked about Martha and Mary again this week...to finish up his series on "Identity Theft" Healing the Woman! I think I am right in the middle of the ladies. I know more and more of what God's will is for my life, but I feel that it's a tough road. Every road has it's ups and downs! I want to be in His will....I want to not be in the limbo stage where I am stuck in cement....but come to find out the only cement that's really there...is me! Step aside...let God work...and believe He'll get you there. I'm ready for whatever He has for me...YES, that's a big thing to say....and yes, I better be ready...because the load will come...but why I can say I'm ready....He's in control....he'll provide me the gas I need to keep moving forward...He'll do His work...and hopefully, I can be there to see it happen.

The fight to which we have been called is not an easy fight. We are touching the very center of the Devil's power and kingdom, and he hates us intensely and fights hard against us. We have no chance at all of winning this fight unless we are disciplined like soldiers, utterly out-and-out and uncompromising, and men and women of prayer.

So, first, give much time to quietness. For the most part we have to get our help directly from our God. We are here to help, not to be helped, and we must each learn to walk with God alone and feed on His Word so as to be nourished. Don't only read and pray; listen. And don't evade the slightest whisper of guidance that comes. May God make you very sensitive, and very obedient.

Fill up the crevices of time with the things that matter most. This will cost something, but it is worth it. "Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek" (Psalm 27:8).

All this will be, if you walk with Him as with a visible Companion, from dawn through all the hours till you go to sleep at night. And your nights will be holy, too, for He is watching over your sleep as your mother watched over it when you were a tiny child.

My own words:
This is powerful I know I fail often with having God compartmentalized....he can be with me here and here....forgetting to bring him over there and here. I know I feel like I'm not worth helping anyone right now, but I pray that God would push me aside and continue to work...even when I do not feel like it at times. It goes back to the whole footprint story. I know He's carrying me right now. I PRAISE GOD on HIGH for carrying me when I feel worthless and weak! May my life and others seek His face...words and life!

When I was working with the youth back in the day at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Cushing, we called ourselves the F.R.O.G.'s - Fully Rely On God. We had these awesome tie died shirts and had an amazing adventure together in Christ. I wish I would have had the FROGGIE saying....how important it is for us to rely on His Grace. Most mornings when I awaken, I am pleasantly surprised to find I'm still alive. On occasion I have been known to wake up mean and irritable, but even then I can choose not to stay that way. Yesterday is gone, and tomorrow may not come. Today is the only slot of time I really have. What a shame to blow it. I want to make today the very best possible.

Ultimate freedom, according to Dr. Viktor E. Frankl, is man's right to choose his own attitude in a given set of circumstances. Before I crawl out of bed, I thank the Lord for another day and ask for strength. Maybe I'm to clean the house, or work at the office, or talk with a friend over lunch. The tasks aren't the issue; my attitude is.

Sometimes I may choose to just pout or withdraw from the human race for a day, and there's a certain sadistic satisfaction in doing that too. But it doesn't compare with the exhilarating joy that comes when I fall into bed at night thinking, "What a day! I did well. I feel good. Thank you, Lord."

My own words:

Wow...now that is an awesome feeling to want....knowing that I got my attitude and actions lined with God's! Attitude adjusting must take place for each of us. I hope that I can get it right more than I fail. May we all work towards having positive attitudes and making actions that are in God's will for our life! AMEN

On fire for God

After driving home from work this past week....I saw this fiery sunset! GORGEOUS! I'm reminded from this picture of how wonderful life is when I'm on fire for HIM! I get so many things wrong in the way I talk and the actions I do not take! God wants us to be on fire for HIM! HIS LOVE FOR US BURNS BRIGHT! This thought gives me hope! I LOVE GOD! I may not understand things that are going on, but I will always know this...HE LOVES ME...and WILL NOT FORSAKE ME! Be on fire for God and get to know just how much on fire he is for you!

Many times we all ger down and out...sometimes questioning what in the world God thinks when He gives us more the "we" think we can handle! :) I'm here to say...even in those times I wonder if He has this crazy since of humor...that God really does know what's best for us. I've been told a time or two that I'm crazy...I know...hard to believe...but I know that when I get out of the way...His way is the best! The past week and a half....and then some...has been a little busy and stressful. I hate feeling like my schedule is not my own, but I know that it will eventually slow down. Today....yes...like other days...God gave me some time with my girlfriends...Alison, Kara and Lesie. We painted pottery and had a great relaxing time....it got me thinking about the Potter and Clay story from the bible (Isaiah). So I did some searching...this version was shorter and really hit what I was thinking.....enjoy!

There was a couple who used to go to England to shop in the beautiful stores. This was their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. They both liked antiques and pottery and especially teacups.
One day in this beautiful shop they saw a beautiful teacup. They said, "May we see that? We've never seen one quite so beautiful." As the lady handed it to them, suddenly the teacup spoke.
"You don't understand," it said. "I haven't always been a teacup. There was a time when I was red and I was clay. My master took me and rolled me and patted me over and over and I yelled out, 'let me alone,' but he only smiled, 'Not yet'".
"Then I was placed on a spinning wheel," the teacup said, "and suddenly I was spun around and around and around. 'Stop it! I'm getting dizzy!" I screamed. But the master only nodded and said, "'Not yet.'" Then he put me in the oven. I never felt such heat. I wondered why he wanted to burn me, and I yelled, and I knocked at the door. I could see him through the opening and I could read his lips as he shook his head, 'Not yet.'

The fruit of the Spirit is a physical manifestation of a Christian's transformed life. In order to mature as believers, we should study and understand the attributes of the ninefold fruit:

Longsuffering (PATIENCE) --

We are "strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness" (Colossians 1:11).

"With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love" (Ephesians 4:2).

I remember when I thought I should pray for patience. Little did I know that asking for that meant that there would be millions of layers of patience, which involved learning lessons in order to gain a tiny bit of patience. I know pray for peace! :) I think everything that we ask for, we must work through in order to gain. It's like training for a marathon. You don't automatically run 26.2 miles. You have to slowly add mileage to your feet. So buckle up and get ready for God to teach you many things while you gain the skills needed!

When you want to scream at someone, quit your job, give up on God or anyone....remember to have patience. We all are sinners trying to survive this life until we get to go HOME! :)

There are so many things God is....one of the fabulous things about our Father is that He is always here! I was driving along and what does God nudge for me to do...take this picture. It's fascinating. I was feeling a little under the weather this past week and poof....God shows me He's here....He's ALWAYS here. The Spirit of happiness is sheer miracle. It is the gift of the happy God, as Paul names our heavenly Father in writing to Timothy. It is the gift of the God of love. He pours it out of His own fountains, through unseen channels, as He poured it upon Paul and Silas before their feet were taken out of the stocks and their stripes washed; for "no created power of hell, or out of hell, can mar the music of our Lord Jesus, nor spoil our song of joy."

One of the great secrets of happiness is to think of happy things. There were many unhappy things in Philippi, things false, dishonorable, unjust, impure, hideous and of very bad report; the air of Philippi was darkened by these things. The Christians of that town might easily have had their lives stained by continually letting their thoughts dwell on what they could not help seeing and hearing and feeling, that evil they must often have met and fought in their striving together for the faith of the gospel.

But they were definitely told to think if things true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, and of good report. "If there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things" (Philppians 4:8).

My own words:
God is always so good at reminding me and others of how good we have it. I can get on my soap boxes a lot when it comes to parents appreciating their kids or workers actually doing their job. I must say that this is fresh air to breath in. I have to remind myself to look at the positives and see the good in all things. I pray that I can see life through God's grace and love!

4. A peaceful life looks like...hmmm...when I trust God to do His work...taking time to create healthy boundaries while trying to keep on top of things...following through on things and feeling like I have purpose.

5. He is constantly at peace when he unconditionally love us. His works of beauty, grace and mercy shed light on so many things. He is PEACE!

There will be days where we climb a mountain that really molds and shapes us. Every once in a blue moon we'll be in the valley, feeling like we aren't getting anywhere. Other days we will be in the water treading, floating or almost feel like we are drowning. What's important is to drop to your knees and give it over to Him! He'll always get us through whatever state we are in.

"Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him." - Luke 8:25 NIV

Is there something you are facing - whether in your outer circumstances or in your inner character - that seems impossible to command? Something that has baffled you and outwitted you a thousand times, and appears that it will win over you in the end?

Don't despair. Don't shrug and give up. Our Lord - your Lord and mine - can command even the most difficult, unruly thing that seems as if it will never be commanded.

Let His word "even" be a comfort to you. He who commands even the winds and water (and they must obey Him) - He can say to that "even" yours, "Peace, be still." And there will come for you a "great calm" (Mark 4:39).

Remember that there is nothing you are asked to do in your own strength. Not the least, nor the greatest. Isn't that amazing? How utterly foolish it is to plead weakness when we - even you and I - may move into the stream of that power. If only we will.

God has definitely been so good to be in giving me peace and contentment. I still have moments where I cry and wonder what the answer to my questions and prayers could be, yet I know He has a plan. I've been praying for God to push me aside and let Him do His work. More has been accomplished this week by me stepping aside. I praise Him on High!

This is a praise and worship song that I was given during my Sophomore Year of College while attending the Hillcrest Baptist Church. I was going through a lot during this time. I can't get through it without tears welling up...just because I know I never will be the same again when God teaches me or leads me to the next lesson. God is always so good! Trust HIM! Footprints in the Sand

This poem is something to cherish for me when I was trying to be tough when my mom was really sick. I was in middle school and felt like I had to be the strong one. Mrs. Joyce Brumley, God rest her soul, was one of my angels who helped me see that God is hear for us through the good and bad times. She taught me so much in my christian walk. Praise God for angels amongst us to help guide our way.

Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky. In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord, “You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there have only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?”

The Lord replied, “The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the sand, that is when I carried you.”
